Banska Bystrica: Demanovska Ice Cave Tour

Let us take you to one of the most impressive caves of the Low Tatras National Park, to Demanovska Cave. We will take you 84 km north from Banska Bystrica to the magnificent cave which is being formed by the underground flow of the river Demanovka. The cave is situated in the Demanovska Valley. The entrance to the cave is located in the cliff Basta at elevation of 840 m, so you will have to climb up to it for about 20 minutes from a parking place. The cave has the all year long ice filling in the lower parts. You will explore this remarkable place covering the 800-metre distance. You will spend inside around 45 minutes. The tourist route runs through spacious river corridors interconnected by steep sections. During the first part of the tour you will have a chance to admire cave spaces with flowstone decoration and in the second part you will be amazed by the view of the iced spaces of the cave. Do not forget to be prepared for low temperature, which oscillates between +0,4°C and +3°C there.
