Poprad: Bardejov & Wooden Churches Tour

We would like to offer you a very special tour to the impressive architectural pearls located in the Eastern Slovakia. We will show you the region of Saris with its remarakable places. Our professional guide will tell you about unique wooden churches and the marvellous city of Bardejov, inscribed into UNESCO’s list in 2001. You will leave Poprad and during our half day tour you will drive toward the city of Bardejov. Bardejov is a city with a long history dating back to the 13th century. It is also one of the oldest cities in Slovakia. You will see the bewitching medieval market square encircled by old town houses. There is situated the Renaissance City Hall from the beggining of the 16th century. You will also have a chance to admire the Franciscan monastery and the city walls as well as the most important monument of Bardejov – the magnificent 15th-century Gothic St. Egidius Church. In the church there is presented a rare collection of the 11 late-Gothic altars. The next attractions of our tour will be three wooden churches situated in the villages of Lukov, Krive and Hervartov. They represent traditional sacral architecture and are a must-see places of this region of Slovakia.
