Essential Slovakia Tour – 6 days

We dedicate this comprehensive tour to those who have a lot of time and want to explore our country deeply. During our tour you will visit the most interesting and important cities of Slovakia with its landmarks. Here is our proposal for itinerary which covers most interesting sites of the country:

Day 1

We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the capital city of Slovakia, to Bratislava. You will stay overnight in the hotel. You will have free time for strolling around the city. In the evening we will invite you for a Welcome Drink and introduce you to itinerary.

Day 2

After breakfast our knowledgable guide will take you on a comprehensive tour around the landmarks of Bratislava. You will visit the impressive building of Primate Palace and see treasures of the Hall of Mirrors and St. Martin Cathedral. You will go through the only preserved gate – Michael’s gate. You will climb up the castle and will have a chance to admire stunning panorama views stretching over Bratislava. Then you will head toward Devin Castle located 10km from city centre. You will also taste samples of a regional speciality – wine. Overnight in Bratislava.

Day 3

In the morning you will depart from Bratislava and experience a scenic drive to the northeast. You will stop in Trencin where the 11th – century fortified castle is located on a high rock. You will find Roman inscription below the Castle dating from 179 AD. After short introduction to Trencin’s history you will take a seat in a local restaurant for lunch. Then, you will head toward the highest located settlement in the Tatras – Strbske Pleso, located by a large glacial mountain lake. You will have a short break for coffee or tea and you will drive to Stara Lesna where you will stay overnight. In the evening you will have a dinner in a local traditional wooden chalet where traditional dishes are served.

Day 4

This day you will have a great chance to explore wonderful areas of the High Tatras Mountains. We will take you on a drive to the top of Skalnate pleso from where a scenic views can be admired. You will continue your tour on foot. Taking a pleasant walk you will experience beauty of nature with its blueberry bushes and pine trees as well as you will see the oldest tiny mountain cottage and waterfalls. Then you will come back to Stara Lesna where you will stay for the next night.

Day 5

After breakfast you will go toward the town of Spisska Sobota which is the well-preserved urban medieval complex. You will admire gothic, renaissance and baroque houses and visit the Late-Romanesque church of St George. You will continue your tour to the real architectural pearl of Slovakia, to Levoca which is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. You will visit a museum and the Roman Catholic church of St. Jacob where the largest wooden wing gothic altar in the world is located. Then, you will head toward one of the largest castles in Central Europe – Spis Castle which will amaze you by its immensity and picturesque location. Overnight in Bratislava.

Day 6

After breakfast, the tour will end. We can organise for you a private transfer to the airport.
