High Tatras Hiking – 8 days

We want to take you to the really magnificent region of the National Park High Tatras which is located in the north of Slovakia. You will admire majestic mountains which peaks hide in clouds, wild nature and picturesque views. The High Tatras are often called “the smallest alpine mountains in Europe”.

Day 1

When you come to Bratislava, we will pick you up and take you to the High Tatra Mountains. You will take part in a Welcome meeting during which you will learn more about the tour’s itinerary. Overnight in Strbske Pleso.

Day 2

You will take a pleasant stroll around the magnificent lake of Strbske pleso which is the most popular glacial lake of the High Tatras and also a winter sport center. You will climb up to Popradske Pleso – an another glacial lake located at 1,494 m. The mountain chalet Chata Pri Popradskom Plese is situated there. You will see a cemetery commemorating people who died in mountains. Total hiking time is 2.5 h. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will go for a hiking to the valley of Green Lake located at the level of 1554m You will visit the chalet above the lake, from where a stunning views of High Tatras’ mountains are stretching. Total hiking time is 6 h. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 4

This day, you will head toward the area of the Great Cold Valley and the mountain Robber’s Chalet situated at an altitude 1960m. You will stop there to relax. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 5

You will ascend the Polish highest peak of Rysy. You will climb up to the chalet under Rysy which is the highest located chalet in the High Tatras. You will have chance to admire scenic views over mountains. It is worth to know that Rysy peak is 2499 m high and the route is difficult, with chains. The trip will take whole day, approx. 7,5 hours. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 6

After tough days of hiking, time for relaxation came. You will visit beautiful medieval town of Levoca which is considered to be an architectural pearls of Slovakia inscribed into UNESCO’s list. You will see the 14th – century church of St. Jacob with the world-largest wooden altar. You will visit museum and take a pleasant walk around the Old Town. You will continue your tour to Spiss Castle located on a dolomite cliff. The castle is one of the largest castles is Central Europe. Then, you will visit Spisska Kaptula which is called ‘Slovak Vatikan’ and you visit the Cathedral of St. Martin. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 7

After breakfast, you will hike up to the top of Krivan peak which is considered to be a symbol of Slovak national pride. Before you ascend the peak you will take a scenic hike among beautiful nature, passing through Razcestie pod Furkotskou and dolinou – Jamske pleso. The trip will last a whole day. Overnight in Stary Smokovec.

Day 8

After breakfast, we will take you to the airport.
